Thousands Expected in Hevron

Thousands are expected to converge on the Me'arat Hamachpelah Cave of the Patriarchs and the Jewish community of Hevron on Monday as part of the intermediate days of Sukkot. Me'arat Hamachpelah is open only to Jews, including the "Isaac Hall" (Ulam Yitzchak in Hebrew), which is off limits when there are Muslims in the site. It will also be open all night Tuesday for traditional Hoshana Raba study sessions.

Monday's central events will include massive prayers, Jewish study, appearances by major Hassidic performing artists and tours of the ancient city, the Jewish neighborhoods and the grave of Otniel ben Kenaz.
