Saudis Warned Argentina of Attack on Israeli Embassy

Saudi Arabia advised Argentina four months ago of an alleged plot, backed by Iran, to kill the Saudi ambassador to Washington and possibly attack the Israeli and Saudi embassies in Buenos Aires, according to an anonymous Argentinian diplomatic source quoted by Reuters, Thursday. The source told the news agency, "The Saudis advised us four months ago, at the request of the United States."

The U.S. Justice Department announced the thwarting of the plot on Tuesday, adding that embassies of the two countries in Washington, DC were also targeted. Iran is believed to be behind two attacks on Israeli and Jewish targets in Buenos Aires that killed a total of more than a hundred people.
