"It is much easier not to stand firm, and to succumb to pressures and receive accolades from the world by making extensive concessions," Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said before leaving Israel for New York Tuesday.

However, he added, "agreeing to a rushed or unilateral arrangement will result not only in missiles on the south and north but on all of Israel. We are determined to stand up for our interests."

Exhibiting confident body language, Netanyahu spoke with Likud MKs in a pre-Rosh HaShana toast.
