European Jewish Congress president Moshe Kantor added his name over the weekend to the long list of international figures calling upon United States President Barack Obama to commute the sentence of Israeli agent Jonathan Pollard to the nearly 26 years he has already served.

The list includes many prominent current and former Israeli and American figures and the addition of a senior Jewish leader in Europe is expected to give the effort to free Pollard a major boost.
