Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will call upon Syrian strongman Bashar Assad to step down, in his speech at the Arab League conference. He will repeat an earlier statement that Assad has lost his legitimacy, according to Turkish newspaper Hurriyet.
Voice of Israel Radio reported that Erdogan will meet with Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, who heads Egypt's temporary government, as well as Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf and Palestinian Authority head Mahmoud Abbas.
