Students Interrupt Steinitz

Students tried to cut off Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz during a speech at a gathering at Tel Aviv University, Sunday evening. The gathering dealt with the principles of a charter of employers, calling on companies and organizations to provide equal opportunities for graduates of bachelor's degree from all the academic disciplines. The students shouted insults at Dr. Steinitz and activists in the audience began singing "The people demand social justice", but were removed quickly from the hall.

Also taking part in the gathering was Professor Emanuel Trajtenberg, the head of the government-appointed committee for socioeconomic change, who said, "The committee is only the beginning. It does not have tools to change Israeli society. There should not be any false expectations."
