An Egyptian source denied, Monday morning, that Egypt intends to destroy smuggling tunnels along its border with Gaza, according to the London-based Arabic daily Al-Chayat.

The source claimed that Egypt is carrying out excavations and other anti-terror activities in the area which are not intended to destroy or close the tunnels, which are used to bring contraband, including weapons and terrorists, into the Hamas-controlled area.
