Specialists: Doctors' Deal Doesn't Cover Us

The doctors' strike, which has gone on for 157 days, may be officially declared over Wednesday afternoon, officials on both sides said. If no last minute demands are posted, doctors and the Treasury will sign the deal, which will ease work schedules and raise salaries for thousands of doctors.

The agreement does not include specialists, who are demanding their own deal. On Tuesday, the organization representing specialists sent letters to the IDF, police, and MDA saying that there was likely to be a shortage of specialists beginning September 1 – when the mass resignations filed by 1,000 specialists earlier this month go into effect.
