Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas on Monday once again announced that local elections in PA controlled areas would be delayed. The elections were to be held in October. No new date has been announced. This is the second time the elections are being delayed.
Analysts said that the delay was announced in order to give more time for the Hamas and Fatah terror groups to resolve their differences, and the desire of both groups to conduct elections in Gaza and PA controlled areas of Judea and Samaria at the same time.
