Barghouti: US Statehood Veto will Cause Arab Unrest

Arch-terrorist Marwan Barghouti, serving five life terms for his role in terror murders, warned, Thursday, that a United States veto of an attempt by the Palestinian Authority (PA) to get United Nations recognition for a unilaterally-declared state will not only cause disturbances in the PA, but mass protests elsewhere in the Arab world and an end to the U.S. role in the region.

The PA is weighing its options in the wake of a warning by the U.S. Congress that it will freeze aid to the Ramallah government if it applies for recognition. The warning led to reports, early in the week, that the PA was thinking about delaying the application, although senior negotiator Saeb Erekat said, after meeting with Americas Jerusalem Consul-General  Daniel Rubinstein in Ramallah, that there was no truth to the reports.
