Somalian President Sheikh Sharif Ahmed vowed Wednesday to hunt down Islamist rebels who have been seizing control of various regions and preventing food aid to starving locals. “As long as they are in Somali territory, even an inch, I will not rest,” he said, as reported by Reuters. “Our determination is the clear them out.”
Rebel group Al Shabaab has been facing increasing division within its ranks. Some Al Shabaab troops on the ground have allowed Muslim charity workers access to famine-hit regions despite the leadership's policy of fighting foreign aid.
