Triple Vehicular Camelcide (UAE)

An Asian couple had a narrow escape after their car hit three camels on Airport Road in Ras Al Khaimah, said Captain Salem Mohammad Bu Ruqaiba, head of the traffic department at Al Digdaga Police Station Monday.

The 28-year-old man and his 32-year-old wife survived the accident, which took place at Al Hamraniyah roundabout on Airport Road.

The man was speeding and driving recklessly when he suddenly saw three camels on the road. His car swerved but he could not avoid the accident as his car hit the animals.

The couple who received minor injuries were moved to the hospital by the emergency team. The case has been referred to the concerned authorities for further action as killing a camel in a road accident carries hefty fines.

Captain Bu Ruqaiba asked motorists to adhere to speed limit and maintain enough distance to ensure safety or other road users.
