“Mr. Prime Minister, perhaps you should see a doctor?” MK Aryeh Eldad suggested Tuesday, addressing Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu during a speech in Knesset. He suggested that Netanyahu meet with one doctor in particular – the head of the Israel Medical Association, who is on a hunger strike and is marching with follow doctors to Jerusalem as a months-long standoff between the IMA and Treasury continues.
Eldad, himself a medical doctor, called on Netanyahu to intervene in the standoff. Doctors are demanding higher wages and better conditions, including an end to overcrowded wards and shifts lasting more than 24 hours.
