A study by the Knesset interministerial committee on child safety released Monday said that the death rate for Arab children from accidents was 3.3 times greater than for Jewish children. The study said that for children up to age 4, the rate was 5.2 times higher. In addition, 6.8 times more Arab children die in traffic accidents.

The committee said that it would take immediate steps to make suggestions to lower the death rate among Arab children.
