Libya: Rebels Repel Qaddafi Attack

Libyan rebels were able to repel on Sunday an attack by leader Muammar Qaddafi’s troops, AFP reported.

According to the report, Qaddafi’s troops had tried to take over the main road to Tripoli in southwest Libya, but the rebels were able to reinforce their forces in Zintan and thus ward off the soldiers.

It was also reported that NATO planes helped the rebels, bombing targets in Tripoli and hampering the soldiers’ offensive.
