A suspect has been arrested on suspicion that he was involved in setting the fire Jerusalem Forest Sunday. The man is a resident of one of the towns near the city. According to police, the man was burning trash near his home, and a heavy wind spread the flames to several locations, from where it spread to engulf large swaths of the forest.

Police now believe that the fire was started out of negligence, not arson, sources in the police department said.
