Finance Committee Cancels Housing Hearing

Chairman Moshe Gafni of the Knesset Finance Committee cancelled a hearing on the housing crisis that was scheduled for Monday after he was informed by the housing and finance ministers that they would not attend because the hearing conflicted with a meeting with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

Gafni said the hearing would be rescheduled in the next few days when the ministers could attend. He added that if they are forced to cancel because of the prime minister, the committee will delay its consideration of real-estate laws that the ministers want to advance.
