Former Egyptian Prime Minister Atef Obeid was arrested Thursday by the authorities in Cairo on suspicion that he purposely sold public land at a price lower than the market price, Reuters reported.
According to the report, Obeid is suspected of selling the land for eight million Egyptian pounds, when the market price was 208 million pounds. It was also reported that Obeid is denying the allegations and accusing his deputy, Youssef Wali.
