'Drivers Hold a Weapon'

Drivers must take more care, particularly as the Three Weeks approach, vice-chairman of the Gush Etzion regional council Yair Wolfe said Wednesday. “Drivers must understand that they hold a weapon in their hands. We are coming into the difficult days of the Three Weeks and must be careful driving,” he said.

The Three Weeks is a period of mourning culminating with the anniversary of the destruction of the Temple on the ninth day of the month of Av.

Wolfe spoke one day after the death of 21-year-old Zohar Enosh of Bat Ayin. Enosh was killed as she drove a motorcycle in the Gush Etzion area in an accident caused by a second driver who turned in front of her without warning. “We knew the family and Zohar very well... A very special family and this is just awful,” said Wolfe.
