Nurses Walk Out on Seven Overpopulated Wards

Members of the Israel Nurses' Federation walked out of six wards at Asaf Harofeh Hospital and one ward at Tel Hashomer Hospital, near Tel Aviv, in protest over the number of patients being larger than called for in an agreement about the number of nurses staffing the wards.

The walkout came as Nurses' Federation Chairwoman Ilana Cohen and Director-General Ronnie Gamzu of the Health Ministry prepared to meet with hospital management in an effort to bring about implementation of the agreement.
