The Strauss company has followed Tnuva in lowering the price of cottage cheese following a consumer boycott. Strauss, like Tnuva, will charge 5.90 shekels for a tub of cheese.

CEO Tzion Balas announced the price change, but charged the state with ensuring that food prices remain reasonable. Prices were changed “in light of the fact that authorities have not acted sufficiently quickly to create a basket of basic food items with an equal price for everyone,” he said.
