Al Qaeda announced Thursday that Egyptian-born terrorist Ayman al-Zawahri has now officially replace Osama Bin-Laden as head of the terror group. He has long been second in command of Al Qaeda, and in recent years has acted as official spokesperson of the terror group.

The announcement on  al-Zawahri's appointment was made on Al-Arabiya TV, which received a press release from Al Qaeda.
