IMF Confirms Cyber Attack
The International Monetary Fund is the latest victim of international computer hackers, as the organization announced over the weekend that it had detected the presence of an unauthorized “digital insider” in its systems. The attack is being investigated by several police organizations, including the FBI.
The attack reportedly occurred before the May 14 arrest of former IMF director Dominique Strauss-Kahn on sexual assault charges. Last weel, CIA Director Leon Panetta told the U.S. Congress that “the next Pearl Harbor that we confront” could be a cyber attack that "cripples our power systems, our grid, our security systems, our financial systems, our governmental systems."
