Sappers who examined mortar shells fired by Gaza terrorists on Wednesday found that some of the shells contained phosphorus. The shells hit the Ashkelon region, but failed to cause casualties.

Phosphorus may not be used as a weapon under international law, which also prohibits targeting civilians for attack.
