Chief-of-Staff Benny Gantz of the Israel Defense Forces has decided to appoint Brigadier General Yoav (Poli) Mordechai to be the next spokesman of the IDF, according to a Sunday evening report by Channel 10 television. Until recently, Mordechai served as head of the Civil Administration for Judea and Samaria.
Mordechai was chosen after Colonel Lior Lotan, the nominee of former chief-of-staff designate Yoav Galant, withdrew his candidacy when Gantz was named chief of staff.
