Lots Allocated for Har Homa Synagogues

The Jerusalem Planning Committee allocated on Tuesday lots for the construction of 19 synagogues in the Har Homa neighborhood. The neighborhood of 30,000 residents, many of them observant, currently has 2 synagogues, with most services taking place in private homes and bomb shelters.

Residents have long complained on the lack of synagogues, and after several years of consideration, the lots were set aside Tuesday. Groups that wish to build synagogues are invited to submit plans to the city for consideration.
