At a special meeting in Munich, Germany, the four bodies that make up The Quartet on the Middle East called for Israel to make more concessions to the Palestinian Authority. These include a renewed freeze on Jewish homes in Judea and Samaria and further cessation of land.
The Quartet said that the rioting in Egypt and impending regime change makes such actions even more urgent. It would be "detrimental to prospects for regional peace and security," if the PA and Israel did not resume negotiations for such concessions.
The Quartet is comprised of the United Nations, the United States, Russia and the European Union. Their aim is to facilitate negotiations between Israel and the PA.
