Foreign Minister Kamel Morjane of Tunisia resigned his position in the unity government on Thursday, against the backdrop of anti-government demonstrations that led to the recent ouster of former president Zine El Abidine Ben-Ali.
Morjane was one of the eight ministers from Ben-Ali's government who stayed on in the interim cabinet. Five have resigned as Prime Minister Mohammed Ghannouchi works on a new goverment that will satisfy the protesters.
