Medvedev: Terror Must Be Eliminated

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, speaking in the opening address at the World Economic Forum in Davos, said that unless the world rooted out terrorism, economic prosperity would be meaningless. “All our efforts to further develop the world economy will be for nothing if we fail to defeat terrorism, extremism and intolerance, if we fail to eradicate altogether these evils which are the greatest danger to mankind,” he said. “Success can be ensured not by states alone but through broad dialogue with civil society.”

Medvedev was speaking just two days after a terror bomb killed 35 people at Moscow's international airport.
