Interior Minister Eli Yishai met on Thursday with the U.S. Ambassador to Israel and gave him a letter from Shas' spiritual leader, Rabbi Ovadia Yosef.

In the letter, Rabbi Yosef writes that Jonathan Pollard's medical condition is considered "pikuach nefesh" and as such he must be immediately released.
