Residents of the Nof Zion neighborhood who hold bonds in the Digal company, which developed the Jerusalem project, will attend a meeting of the company in an effort to prevent the sale of the bonds and the company to Arab millionar Bashar Al-Masri. The residents are concerned that the proposed sale will mean the end of further construction of the development, leaving them as an isolated religious Zionist island surrounded by hostile Arabs.
The residents are calling on Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, whose family owns a controlling interest in the financially-troubled company, to oppose the sale and not accept the deal. There has been a drive in recent days to raise money to outbid Al-Masri.
