Attias Opposes Rabbis' Letter

Speaking Thursday, Housing Minister Ariel Attias said that he was opposed to a letter signed by some 300 rabbis last week against renting or selling property to non-Jews. Such a stance would encourage anti-Jewish discrimination in other countries, Attias said a press conference.

“We cannot discriminate between populations when it comes to housing sales,” Attias said. “We certainly do not want landlords in Paris and London to refuse to to rent homes to Jews there. Any further discussion on this subject is unnecessary,” Attias added.
