Four Russian tourists visiting Sharm el-Sheikh in southern Sinai were attacked by sharks Thursday. All are in the hospital with serious injuries. Two of the tourists were injured when a shark attacked them after they jumped into the water off a cruise ship in the center of the Red Sea. The shark was apparently right in the area, and when they jumped in the water, it started biting their legs and arms.

The two were quickly retrieved from the water, and the shark then turned its attention to a nearby beach, where it attacked two more Russians who were in the water. One of the injured tourists suffered a heart attack, and doctors said she was near death. All the injured were transferred to a Cairo hospital. The beaches in the area have been closed, and coast guard patrols are searching for the shark.
