Several Knesset parties have approached MK Haim Amsalem about joining them after his own Shas party ousted him. Amsalem says he won't go back to Shas. He wants to remain in the Knesset and says he was approached by the National Union party, the Jewish Home party, Labor and Likud. In an interview with Kol Yisrael radio, he criticized the Shas party, but praised Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, seen by Shas members as a spiritual leader. Amsalem born in Algeria, is an ordained rabbi and was elected for the first time in 2006.
