9 Arabs Held in Lynch Attempt

Nine residents of the Arab village of Isawwiya, near Jerusalem, including five teenagers, were arrested Thursday on suspicion of throwing stones at an Israeli vehicle in which four students were traveling. The students took a wrong term into the village, and an Arab mob surrounded the vehicle and started to stone them, in an attempt to conduct a lynch.

Police suspect that the students were actually given wrong directions by Arabs, who sought to draw them into the village in order to enable the attack to proceed. No one was injured in the incident.
