Shekel Slightly Stronger; Dollar Weaker

The shekel gained an average of .156 percent in value Monday against a number of currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign exchange list in mixed trading. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.77, down .317 percent from Friday's rate.

The Euro rose .241 percent to 4.8337 shekels and the pound sterling was set at NIS 5.8101, up .14 percent. The Australian dollar rose 2.123 percent to 3.5157 shekels, and gains of more than 1.5 percent were recorded for the South African rand and the Swedish krona, each worth slightly more than half a shekel.
