Shalom: No Freeze Extension Before Talks

Deputy Prime Minister Silvan Shalom reacted negatively Tuesday to reports that government officials were seeking a “creative solution” to ensuring the continuation of the building freeze in Judea and Samaria in order to ensure that the Palestinian Authority does not drop out of direct talks set to take place next week. “I believe compromising just to begin talks is something that runs against logic, and that era must end. Issues of the final status arrangements must be dealt with only in final status talks,” he said.
