PA Says Path to Peace Includes Arab Jerusalem

In advance of direct negotiations with Israel, Saeb Erekat, PA head negotiator, delivered a message from PA Chief Mahmoud Abbas to U.S. President Barack Obama, Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-Moon and the Commissioner for Foreign Affairs of the European Union.

In the letter Abbas wrote that the "shortest way to peace" is ending what he called the Israeli “occupation” of all lands liberated since 1967, including East Jerusalem and the Golan and the establishment of an independent PA state with its capital in East Jerusalem.

He also demanded Israel allow millions of Arabs into the area, calling them “returning refugees”.
