Infrastructures Minister Uzi Landau said Friday morning that "Treasury people who prevented desalination plants in time have not learned their lesson." He said the budget presented to his ministry is an expression of irresponsibility to the nation, adding that the nation's water and electricity crises will get worse and lead to frequent power outages and a stop to attempts at saving the water system.
Dr. Landau said that the government sets goals and the finance ministry puts barriers in the way of achieving them. He said the affected areas include: earthquake safety, clean electricity through natural gas, renewable energy, and an energy efficiency program that could save more than 40 billion dollars in the next decade.
