Deputy Knesset Speaker Majali Whbee, who is representing Israel at the meeting of the Interparliamentary Union, announced Sunday that he has thwarted an attempt by Arab countries to make an agenda item out of the addition of the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hevron and the Tomb of Rachel, north of Bethlehem, on Israel's list of government-maintained heritage sites.
Whbee said that two thirds of the delegates, including European representatives, voted against the Arab proposal.
