Senior aide David Axelrod tried to calm ruffled feathers in Israel on Sunday, saying that United States President Barack Obama did not give Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu a chilly reception last week.

Interviewed on the Cable News Network's State of the Union, Axelrod said "this was not a ceremonial meeting; this was a working meeting among friends so there was no snub intended."
