1,600 Homes to be Built in Ramat Shlomo

The Jerusalem district planning commission and the Interior Ministry on Tuesday approved construction of 1,600 new homes in the Ramat Shlomo section of Jerusalem. The neighborhood is located in areas liberated by Israel in the 1967 Six Day War.

The homes are part of a major expansion of Jerusalem authorized several years ago, which includes homes and new roads in the western part of the city. Thirty percent of the homes in the new project will be sized at 95 square meters or smaller, and are meant for young couples. Other apartments will be family-sized, at 120 meters. A new park is also planned for the area.
