Retired judge Menachem Neeman, former vice president of the Haifa district court, condemned the recent acts of violence against judges. Speaking to Arutz 7, Neeman said that the recent events, such as the throwing of a shoe at High Court judge Dorit Beinisch and the torching of a car belonging to a Haifa area judge, were the result of "a negative influence in the country."
He said he did not believe that politicians who criticized the justice system were responsible for the increased violence against judges, despite the theory proffered by former High Court justice Michael Cheshin on the matter. "Criticism of the justice system is permissible as long as it is done respectfully," Neeman said.
