The Israel Police disclosed on Sunday that an 18-year-old from Jerusalem was arrested Friday on suspicion of involvement in a disturbance in the Samarian Jewish community of Yitzhar, in which a tire on an Israel Defense Forces jeep was punctured on Thursday. The boy will be formally charged on Monday, when police will ask that he be held until the end of proceedings against him.
The police stressed it views such incidents seriously and all violence against security forces will be dealt with as severely as possible with zero tolerance. The incident was sparked off when a Border Guard officer allegedly drove in the wrong direction in Yitzhar.
