A crowd of an estimated 150 Land of Israel activists blocked a junction at the entrance to the Palestinian Authority city of Shechem for three hours Thursday evening in a demonstration for Jewish access to the Tomb of Joseph (Kever Yosef and against the government's decision to freeze construction in Judea and Samaria for the next 10 months. The group marched 200 meters into the city in the direction of the Biblical character's grave, which is occasionally visited by Jewish prayer groups.
During the demonstration, Member of Knesset Michael Ben-Ari said, "The abandoning and deterioaration of everything connected to Kever Yoseph cannot continue. [Prime Minister Binyamin] Netanyahu, the non-leader is trying to weaken the leadership of settlement leadership, but through the merit of the young spirit of the youth and settlers, he will not succeed."
