Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov met Tuesday with Antoninus Pasachlidos, the Tourism and Industry minister of Cyprus, in Jerusalem, while the latter was on a trip to Israel. The two said they were developing plans to increase cooperation between the two countries, and increase the flow of tourism in both directions.
Misezhnikov also urged further cooperation with Cyprus in the areas of energy production and trade, given the recent discoveries of large natural gas deposits in the Mediterranean. Pasachlidos said that Cyprus sees Israel's experience and knowledge in the area of energy development as an important resource to help it develop its own energy policy.
