MK Tzipi Hotovely, chairwoman of the Knesset Committee for the Advancement of the Status of Women, called on the government Tuesday to institute a national emergency plan to battle violence against women. Hotovely made the call during a meeting of the Committee on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Hotovely said that the plan should include programs for all relevant government ministries, as well as the relevant social welfare and aide organizations in the country.
