Visiting youth from a pre-army academy were not involved in the preparation of an anti-expulsion banner discovered Thursday at a Kefir Brigade training base in the Jordan Valley, according to a soldier at the base.
Interviewed by Arutz Sheva's Russian service, the soldier said, "We're not willing to be [Defense Minister Ehud] Barak's pawns in the solution to the internal problems of his party." He added, "We don't have any other reasonable explanation why they destroy caravans and throw children out of their houses while thousands of illegal Arab houses remain standing across the country."
The soldier stressed, "This is not why we joined the IDF. We are ready to die in battle for the security of Israel - that's what we enlisted for. [The one] who is exploiting us for his personal political purposes should not accuse us of making the IDF political."
