MK Robert Tivaiv, chairman of the Israel- Turkey Friendship Association, met Tuesday with a delegation of Turkish officials, including top officials from the Turkish Foreign Ministry. Among the Turkish delegation was also a group of young diplomats, posted to stations in Cairo and Amman.
Tivaiv welcomed the diplomats, emphasizing that the visit strengthened Israel-Turkish ties. "We see this visit as an important one for relations between Israel and Turkey, one that can and must be a bridge between Israel and the Muslim world. Relations between our countries have been strained, but I believe we will be able to restore the good relations between our countries quickly," he said.
