The Im Tirtzu (If You Wish) Zionist student organization has written to Chairman Zevulun Orlev of the Knesset Education Committee, demanding an emergency hearing on a University of Tel Aviv memo publicized by Haaretz on Monday in which an administrator said that right-wing students were afraid that their grades would suffer if they disagreed with leftist instructors.
An Im Tirtzu statement said that stifling of the Zionist voice comes not only from the left, but also from the right and center in colleges and universities. In addition, the institutions are sounding boards against Israel's right to exist as a Jewish-Zionist state and against the right of the Israel Defense Forces to act in defense of its citizens.
